These 15 adorable animals just want their chance in the big leagues! Because baseball is played outdoors, it's not uncommon for a furry little critter to find his way onto the field every now and then, leading to much cheering and chasing. It's time we let them show off their skills!
A grey kitty runs on the field in the bottom of the 9th inning as the Myrtle Beach Pelicans take on the Wilmington Blue Rocks. The cat eventually stops in front of one of the players, lying on its back between his feet, begging for a belly rub, but the player just laughs and runs off the field.
A rabbit runs onto the field at Modern Woodmen Park during a game between The River Bandits (St. Louis Cardinals affiliate) and the Snappers (Minnesota Twins affiliate). The rabbit stops play for quite a while but is eventually chased out by Bandits pitcher Chris Notti. The whole ordeal is narrated by the game announcers, and it's quite hilarious to watch as two teams and their coaching staffs try to corner the bunny.

Minor league team the Trenton Thunder had their very own bat dog! His name was Chase and he carried out bats for the team from 2002 until 2013, when he passed away and handed over the duty to his son, Derby. RIP Chase, the cutest bat dog to ever trot onto the diamond.
A possum was spotted hanging from the fence and hissing at players at the Phillies Spring Training. Some feared he might be rabid, but before he could cause any real trouble, he was caught in a trashcan as he wandered across the field.
A couple years ago a bat flew into PNC park. We're guessing he got confused when he heard other bats would be there too.
During a promotion where a local dog from a shelter is featured for adoption, this dog got loose and found his way onto the pitcher's mound. Though the pitcher kindly walked the pooch off the field, he should have let Fido throw a pitch!

In 1969, a black cat ran onto the field and stopped right in front of the Chicago Cubs dugout, staring at them for a good 10 seconds before sprinting off. We guess it was a sign of bad luck because after being in first place all season, the Cubs went on to lose 18 out of 27 games during the next two months and failed to qualify for the postseason.

This dog just wants to enjoy the game all snuggled up in his blanket. He'd also like to fetch a hot pretzel, but he's not going to risk missing a play. Fingers crossed you get on the kiss cam with him for one big slobbery smooch!
In a game between Chicago and Cleveland, a squirrel runs onto field and even does a backflip off the fence! After a while, he decides he's had enough of being chased around so he just plops down on the infield. Come on, Mr. Squirrel, there's no sunbathing in baseball!
A line drive is headed your way? No problem if you're a baseball player. Apparently it's also easy for them to catch squirrels running the bases in their helmets too.
